Care Predictor is honored to be featured at this year’s European Conference on Addictive Behaviours & Dependencies, more commonly referred to as the Lisbon Addictions Conference, from October 23-25. According to their website, the event is “a multidisciplinary conference that provides a forum for networking across the addictions field.”

More specifically, the three–day event focuses on “stimulating and promoting high-quality scientific debate, showcasing leading European addiction research in the specialist areas of illicit drugs, alcohol, tobacco, gambling and other addictive behaviours.” The conference is organized by a variety of renowned associations, including the Portuguese Institute on Addictive Behaviours and Dependencies, P.I. (ICAD, I.P.), the European Union Drugs Agency (EUDA), the journal Addiction/Society for the Study of Addiction (Addiction/SSA), and the International Society of Addiction Journal Editors (ISAJE).

Care Predictor will be showcased alongside the National Institute for Behavioral Health (NIFBH) for the groundbreaking pilot study they completed in August of 2024, which validated the Care Predictor Index (CPI) as effective in predicting therapeutic impact and improving clinical symptomatology.

Statistically significant findings from this study include the following:

1. Patients whose therapist had a CPI score of 84 or higher showed greater improvement in their PHQ-9 (depression scale) score over time.

2. Results were consistent across diverse backgrounds (gender, race, age, ethnicity) and levels of care, indicating no bias and underscoring CPI’s strong predictive value.

3. Patients working with therapists who have higher CPI scores are more likely to maintain engagement, motivation, treatment adherence and a willingness to complete assessments administered by their clinical care team.

This is an exciting opportunity for Care Predictor to highlight the significance of the therapeutic alliance in behavioral healthcare to an international audience. Given that an increasing number of young adults around the world are experiencing mental health issues, the importance of genuine human connection, both in and out of treatment, cannot be overstated.

Care Predictor is an organization that exists to empower behavioral healthcare organizations by utilizing AI and Predictive Analytics to deliver actionable, data-backed insights and tools that enhance clinical and operational performance, ultimately improving patient outcomes and organizational efficiency.
