The team at Care Predictor is excited to announce that our assessment tool, the Care Predictor Index (CPI), has recently been validated by Berkshire Associates as effective in helping organizations in the behavioral healthcare industry make better hiring decisions. Berkshire, a well-known human resources and technology firm, specializes in areas such as pay equity, affirmative action, and workforce analytics. The CPI was created to predict a care provider’s ability to form a strong therapeutic or working alliance with clients, garnering data-driven insights which are then utilized in both hiring decisions and workforce development initiatives.
One of the key considerations made by Berkshire was to ensure that the CPI meets all relevant professional standards and federal laws, including the Civil Rights Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act, among others. The study found that the CPI’s results showed no adverse impact based on race, gender, or age, indicating that the tool is both equitable and effective when assessing individuals from diverse backgrounds.
In order to further validate the CPI’s efficacy as a pre-hire screening tool for both clinical and care team (non-clinical) roles, Berkshire’s study included five individual treatment centers who have implemented the assessment to do just that – Alter Behavioral Health, Hope Horizon Mental Health, Live Tula, Prosperity Wellness Center and Solutions Based Treatment.
Collaborating with key stakeholders at each treatment center, Berkshire took a deeper look at job tasks performed by employees on both clinical and care teams at each facility, leading to the identification of eight key areas that were essential for success in these roles: interpersonal relationships, organization, dependability, patient care, safety, communication, crisis management, and client outcomes.
Berkshire concluded that the CPI consistently produces fair and highly reliable results with regards to selecting clinical and care team members. Furthermore, the study verified that candidates who scored well on the CPI were more likely to succeed in their roles, reinforcing the tool’s ability to predict job performance accurately.
With its scientifically-proven ability to forecast job performance and its adherence to legal and professional standards, the Care Predictor Index is set to play a key role in helping behavioral healthcare organizations make more informed, data-driven, and equitable hiring decisions. This validation marks an important milestone in the evolving field of workforce analytics, offering a reliable and fair approach to building strong, effective teams that lead to optimal clinical and organizational outcomes, and most importantly, provide the best possible care to those in need by leveraging the power of human connection.
